Human rights groups throughout the world gather and collect large amounts of valuable data. But too much of this information is not effectively or efficiently distributed.
Martus is used by individuals and organizations around the world to protect and organize sensitive information. Martus has been introduced and used in Colombia, Egypt, Guatemala, Iraq, Kenya, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Perú, the Philippines, Russia, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Thailand (both in-country and for Burma) and the United States. Martus is committed to meeting the diverse needs of human rights groups. While developing this tool, the Martus team consulted with Human Rights Watch, the Open Society Institute, the United Nations, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and grassroots organizations from more than a dozen countries. We also gathered initial user feedback from our NGO partners in Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Guatemala and Russia. The Martus development team continues to incorporate feedback from Martus users around the world into several new Martus releases each year. Martus is designed to serve the needs of other groups and individuals who seek to secure their information including, reporters, academics, attorneys and activists. To learn more about Martus in action, take a look at our case studies from Colombia, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Guatemala, Russia and the United States.
